Claudio Ranieri: 'Joe Dodoo was fantastic'

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has stated that Joe Dodoo was "fantastic" in the team's League Cup victory over West Ham United.

The 20-year-old, who came through the ranks at the King Power Stadium, scored six minutes into the Foxes' 2-1 win on Tuesday evening.

Ranieri has admitted that he is impressed with the progress that the young forward is showing.

"He was fantastic. He's very smart and he was ready to shoot at goal. Joe is good because he can smell the goal," Eurosport quotes the Italian as saying.

"When he shoots at goal he is very dangerous, and he had another chance to score.

"I'm very happy with him and excited because he's a very attentive lad and often I speak with him about his best position, how to attack and how to defend. I'm very happy with him."

Dodoo has scored four goals in two League Cup appearances for Leicester so far this season.
