Leicester's Jamie Vardy "much better" ahead of Tottenham Hotspur league clash

Vardy "much better" ahead of Spurs clash

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has claimed that Jamie Vardy is in a "much better" condition ahead of Wednesday's Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur.

The 15-goal striker has not featured since his side's goalless draw with Bournemouth at the King Power Stadium on January 2 because of groin surgery.

The Foxes played out a 2-2 draw with Tottenham in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday and it is unclear whether Vardy will take part in Wednesday's league match at White Hart Lane.

"Jamie had a problem for a month-and-a-half but continued to play," Ranieri told reporters. "Now he's much better and I'll see if he's ready on Wednesday.

"The little problem he had, with a little surgery and a little operation, was done. He can run normally without any problem."

Leicester remain second in the league table, two points behind leaders Arsenal.
