Leeds eye permanent deal for Meslier?

Leeds United reportedly want to retain the services of goalkeeper Illan Meslier on a permanent basis.

Since arriving on loan from Lorient last summer, Meslier has only made three appearances in all competitions, two of which have been due to Kiko Casilla's suspension for racial abuse.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Leeds have indicated that they are interested in pushing through the full-time transfer of the 20-year-old.

Before football was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Frenchman kept clean sheets against Hull City and Huddersfield Town respectively.

The report adds that the Yorkshire giants will have to win promotion to the Premier League in order to follow up their interest.

Due to the terms of the loan agreement between the two sides, Meslier would cost £6m.
