Giovanni Trapattoni: 'Paul Pogba is no Lionel Messi, Juventus should sell him'

Trapattoni: 'Pogba is no Messi'

Former Juventus coach Giovanni Trapattoni has insisted that the club would be "silly not to sell" Paul Pogba, who is 'no Lionel Messi'.

The French midfielder is currently linked with several different clubs, including Real Madrid.

Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, even suggests that if the player were to be sold, he would break Cristiano Ronaldo's transfer record.

Trapattoni believes that his former team should cash in on the deal and get several world-class replacements with the funds.

"If a club wants to do crazy things for a player then it's better to let them go," the 75-year-old said, according to Goal.com.

"Pogba is a great player but he isn't Messi. It would be silly not to sell him for £75m. Juventus could get three quality players at a medium to high European level with the money.

"It would be risky to try spending all the money on one player purely to replace Pogba."

Juventus come up against AC Milan this Saturday and will look to increase their lead at the top of the table to 10 points.
