Juve keen to extend Tevez deal

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that the Italian club are keen to commit Carlos Tevez to a new long-term contract.

The Argentine international, who has scored eight goals in 10 league games for Juve this season, has a contract with the Serie A champions until the summer of 2016.

However, Marotta has hinted that talks over a new deal will soon take place, providing that the 30-year-old wants to stay in Turin.

"Carlos is a true champion. He still has one-and-a-half years to go on his current contract and we have an excellent relationship. There will not be any problem if he wants to stay here," Marotta told Corriere dello Sport.

"I can see that he loves this jersey and we would be happy to hold on to him for a long time."

Tevez joined Juve from Manchester City in 2013 and has netted 32 times in 60 games for the club.
