Juventus's Gianluigi Buffon: 'I don't want a long-term contract'

Buffon: 'No long-term contract'

Gianluigi Buffon has revealed that he does not want to sign a long-term contract with Juventus.

The 34-year-old goalkeeper's current deal with the Italian champions runs out in June 2016.

"We are getting close to finalising the deal but we have to discuss the length, as I would like a short contract," he said. "I don't want to take anyone's money without deserving it.

"I have had an important career and I think I can continue for another two or three years if I maintain certain motivation and targets. It's about self-esteem too."

Buffon joined Juventus from Parma in 2001.
