Inverness Caledonian Thistle boss John Hughes signs new two-year contract

John Hughes signs new Inverness deal

John Hughes has extended his stay as manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle by signing a new two-year contract.

The 51-year-old, whose previous contract was due to expire at the end of next summer, will be tied down to the Scottish outfit until 2018.

Since joining in December 2013, Hughes has guided Inverness to Scottish Cup glory, as well as the final of the Scottish League Cup.

"I'm extremely pleased that negotiations have been satisfactorily concluded and that my future lies with Caley Thistle," Hughes told the club's official website.

"It's the outcome I really wanted as I've really enjoyed myself at the club and in the Highlands. The supporters have been excellent and there's a tremendous spirit in the dressing room which I have worked hard to maintain and strengthen.

"It's a pleasure to work with such a wholehearted, committed bunch of lads. Brian Rice has done a first-class job since coming in three months ago and I'm delighted that he'll be at my side over the next couple of seasons."

Assistant manager Brian Rice has also extended his deal by two years.
