Hull City striker Chuba Akpom targets goalscoring run

Hull City loanee Chuba Akpom wants to add to his goals tally after finding the net in the Tigers' comfortable victory against Ipswich Town in midweek.

Chuba Akpom has targeted a run of goals after ending his recent drought in Hull City's victory over Ipswich Town.

The on-loan Arsenal striker found the net for the Tigers' second goal of the night, as they ran out 3-0 winners to maintain their promotion push.

After scoring just his second league goal of the season, and his first since the opening-day win against Huddersfield Town, Akpom hopes that there is now more to come during the remainder of his Humberside stay.

"As a striker, when you score it is the best feeling," he told the club's official website. "I hadn't been on the scoresheet for us for a while so it was nice to be back on it and I think people could see from my celebration that I was happy.

"Hopefully there are more goals to come now this season. We scored three good goals on the night, especially the third one when David Meyler has shown good technique and he scores goals like that in training.

"We didn't start the game too well, but the longer it went on the better we got and we started to create the scoring opportunities. We got three goals, and the three points which was always the most important thing."

Akpom has made 12 appearances for City in the Championship since joining on a season-long loan from the Gunners.
