O'Kelly handed Hereford job

Richard O'Kelly has been named the new manager of League Two side Hereford United.

The-55-year-old has taken over from Jamie Pitman, who was sacked from the position earlier today.

O'Kelly had a two-year stint with the club up until 2010 as an assistant manager.

"I'm excited to be given this chance and it's great to be back at Hereford," O'Kelly told the club's official website.

"It's a very special football club for me and I'm determined to make sure the club starts to achieve its potential."

Pitman is expected to become part of O'Kelly's coaching staff.
