Hearts pay overdue player salaries

Hearts of Midlothian have handed out their players' overdue wages.

The Edinburgh club had informed the squad that this month's pay packet could be up to two weeks late, but has now paid them in full.

The Tynecastle outfit has been struggling with its finances for some time. Last year, its players complained to the Scottish Premier League after late salary payments spanned three consecutive months.

Hearts expressed frustration that more players did not leave the club in January to ease the crisis, BBC Scotland reports.

The club avoided sanctions from the SFA following the December complaint, paying the following month's salaries one day late.

Hearts are in SPL action this Saturday when they take on Aberdeen at home.
