Nicolai Muller scores twice for Mainz as they hold Hannover to 2-2 away draw in the Bundesliga.

Hannover and Mainz have played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the AWD Arena in the Bundesliga.

Visitors Mainz pulled ahead in the 25th minute when Jan Schlaudraff's sloppy pass was collected by Nicolai Muller, who took the ball through the legs of Karim Haggui before coolly slotting home past Ron-Robert Zieler.

Schlaudraff redeemed himself in the 36th minute when he set up the equaliser for Hannover, putting in a cross for Artur Sobiech to head in from six yards out.

Muller thought that he had restored Mainz's one-goal lead in the 40th minute, but his effort was ruled out for deliberate handball.

Hannover went down to 10 men in the 65th minute when Christian Schulz was sent off for a second bookable offence, but they took the lead five minutes later.
Sobiech sent Mame Biram Diouf through on goal for the Senegalese striker to score with a composed finish.

Mainz refused to give in and earn a share of the spoils when 11 minutes from time through Muller, who shot in low from a narrow angle after collecting Shawn Parker's pass.
