Marco Silva admits that he was left feeling frustrated as Fulham were held to a goalless draw by Everton in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Marco Silva feels that his Fulham side did everything but score as they were held to a goalless draw by Everton on Saturday evening.

The Cottagers went into the fixture with the Toffees having scored in their last nine games, including netting three times in wins over Aston Villa and Leeds United.

However, despite having the better of their contest with the Merseyside outfit, Fulham's streak in the final third came to an end in the capital.

The home side created 24 opportunities without scoring, while Aleksandar Mitrovic failed to continue his fine form this campaign by not taking any of his 10 chances.

Despite admitting his frustration after the game, Silva spoke highly of his side as they added another point to their collection since earning promotion from the Championship.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Silva said: "It's difficult to believe, really. We did almost everything well. Everton played a direct game, we knew that, and they created some moments but we are always on the front foot.

"I am proud of my players, we didn't win the game but we played at a very good level. We have to put the ball in the net and on a normal evening we score more than one goal with these chances.

"Jordan Pickford and their defenders deserve credit, they block everything but we did everything to win. In football we have days like this. It's the first game at home we have not scored, our philosophy and desire is right. Mitro will score next time."

In extending their unbeaten streak to four matches, Fulham have now accumulated 19 points from 13 games, keeping them within five points of fourth-placed Newcastle United.

Fulham's final two matches ahead of the World Cup sees them square off against Manchester City and Manchester United.
