Martin Jol rues wasteful Fulham

Fulham boss Martin Jol blames his side's lack of finishing for Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Swansea City in the Premier League.

Fulham boss Martin Jol has blamed his side's poor finishing for their 2-1 defeat at home to Swansea City in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Cottagers were beaten for the fourth consecutive time as Jonjo Shelvey's late goal earned Swansea the points in West London.

The result was enough to see Fulham slip into the relegation zone on goal difference.

"If you don't score, you can't win games," Jol told BBC Sport. "They had players missing and we had the chance to beat them. You have to take the opportunities in this league and we didn't.

"All the hard work we've done in the last two weeks we haven't built on today. I want the fans to realise that Swansea are a good team and we were unfortunate. A win would have put us above them and it was close."

Fulham's next match in the Premier League is a trip to fellow strugglers West Ham United on Saturday.
