Saturday's Eredivisie predictions including PSV vs. PEC Zwolle

Fortuna Sittard will be out to prolong their unbeaten run in the Eredivisie this weekend when they take on Groningen at Fortuna Sittard Stadion in the first match of Saturday afternoon.

The hosts enter gameweek 10 of the season unbeaten in their last three league games, while the visitors are in search of their first top-flight victory in over two months.

We say: Fortuna Sittard 2-1 Groningen

After a very impressive start to the season, Groningen now find themselves in freefall having lost their last four games on the bounce, and we feel that they will struggle to get anything from this one as well.

PSV vs. PEC Zwolle (Saturday, 5.45pm)

PSV Eindhoven will be aiming to maintain their perfect record in the Eredivisie this weekend when they welcome PEC Zwolle to Philips Stadion for a gameweek 10 clash.

The hosts are the only team in the division yet to drop a point this season, while the visitors have only managed eight points from their first nine games of the campaign.

We say: PSV Eindhoven 3-1 PEC Zwolle

PSV have won each of their last 16 matches in a row against this opponent over the last decade, and given their form this season, it is tough to see anything but another commanding victory for the champs in this one.

NAC Breda vs. RKC Waalwijk (Saturday, 7.00pm)

NAC Breda will set out aiming to continue their winning run when they entertain the challenge of RKC Waalwijk at the Rat Verlegh Stadion on Saturday evening in round 10 of the 2024-25 Eredivisie campaign.   This weekend's affair will be the first competitive encounter between the sides since May 2018 when they met in the KNVB-Beker, with each of the most recent three clashes coming in pre-season friendlies.

We say: NAC Breda 1-0 RKC Waalwijk

Waalwijk showed some signs of life in their draw against FC Twente, but Breda are favourites to come away with maximum points in this one.

 

We can see the home side rising up to expectations and getting the job done, albeit by only a narrow margin.

Heerenveen vs. Sparta (Saturday, 8.00pm)

Two teams who could really do with a victory lock horns at the Abe Lenstra Stadion on Saturday as Heerenveen await the visit of Sparta Rotterdam in matchday 10 of the 2024-25 Eredivisie season.   The home side will head into this weekend's encounter off the back of an emphatic 3-0 defeat against NEC last time out, while the away side played out a 2-2 stalemate against Almere City.  

We say: Heerenveen 1-1 Sparta Rotterdam

The onus will be more on Heerenveen to make home advantage count and get the better of a Sparta Rotterdam side who have dominated this fixture of late.

 

We are backing a share of the spoils with honours even at the end of the 90 minutes.
