Scottish Challenge Cup roundup: Five-goal Rory McAllister inspires Peterhead

Sports Mole rounds up Tuesday evening's Scottish Challenge Cup action as Rory McAllister scores five goals for Peterhead as they beat Falkirk.

Rory McAllister inspired Peterhead to a 5-3 victory against Falkirk in the Scottish Challenge Cup this evening.

The striker struck all five goals for the visitors, and claimed a quick-fire double just before the half-hour mark to cancel out strikes from David Smith and Paul Watson.

McAllister added his hat-trick just before the break before Alex Cooper made it 3-3 with around 15 minutes remaining.

However, McAllister scored twice late on to take his side through to the next round.

Stenhousemuir booked their place in the next round with a 2-0 win over Raith Rovers at Ochilview Park.

Two second-half goals in four minutes were enough for the home side, who took the lead through Alan Cook on 67 minutes before Stephen Stirling wrapped up the victory.

St Mirren found themselves a goal down after the first minute against Annan Athletic, but responded to win 2-1.

Peter Wetherson gave the home side the lead inside the first minute from the penalty spot, but second-half goals from Jordan Stewart and Alan Gow gave St Mirren the victory.

Dunfermline Athletic wrapped up a comfortable 3-0 win over 10-man Forfar Athletic.

Kevin Nicoll was sent off for the home side just after the half-hour mark and the visitors immediately made their numerical advantage count as Michael Moffat netted from the penalty spot.

Fayssal El-Bakhtaoui scored the second just before the break, and Moffat added his second of the evening eight minutes from time.

Queen's Park got the better of Dumbarton with a 1-0 win thanks to Joseph Bradley's strike six minutes into extra time.

Livingston edged out Queen of the South 1-0 after extra time, with Jordan White netting the crucial goal on 115 minutes.

Results in full: Forfar 0-3 Dunfermline, Queen's Park 1-0 Dumbarton, Annan 1-2 St Mirren, Falkirk 3-5 Peterhead, Queen of the South 0-1 Livingston, Stenhousemuir 2-0 Raith Rovers
