Manchester City plot £28m Stevan Jovetic deal?

Manchester City are reportedly ready to splash out £28m on Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic.

New manager Manuel Pellegrini told the media on Wednesday that signing a striker was a high priority this summer.

City sold Mario Balotelli in January and Carlos Tevez this summer and have yet to replace either player, but the club are prepared to make a big-money bid for La Viola's Jovetic, according to The Mirror.

Jovetic's agent Fali Ramadani held talks with City's sporting director Txiki Begiristain on Wednesday ahead of the proposed move.

Fiorentina president Andrea della Valle recently told Juventus that Jovetic's asking price was €30m (£25m).
