Fiorentina remain interested in signing Mario Balotelli on a free transfer, according to a report.

Fiorentina are reportedly still interested in signing Mario Balotelli on a free transfer this summer.

Balotelli is currently without a club having left Marseille at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

Flamengo have been strongly linked with a move for the 28-year-old, who netted eight times in 15 appearances for Marseille in the second half of last season.

According to Corriere dello Sport, though, Fiorentina remain in the hunt for the Italy international despite suggestions earlier this summer that the attacker's wage demands were an issue.

Balotelli has turned out for AC Milan, Liverpool, Nice and Marseille since leaving Manchester City in 2013, where he managed 30 goals in 80 appearances.

The controversial forward, meanwhile, has played 122 Serie A matches during spells with Inter Milan and AC Milan, finding the back of the net on 47 occasions in Italy's top flight.
