Fiorentina attempt to calm Mohamed Salah dispute with Inter Milan

Fiorentina attempt to calm a dispute with Inter Milan over Mohamed Salah by distancing themselves from criticism tweeted by vice-president Paolo Panerai.

Fiorentina have attempted to calm a dispute with Inter Milan regarding Mohamed Salah by distancing themselves from vice-president Paolo Panerai's Twitter rant.

Panerai used the social media site's platform to accuse their Serie A rivals of breaking transfer rules by trying to sign Salah, who reportedly refused to return to Fiorentina for a second loan spell from Chelsea.

Among a series of tweets, the businessman wrote: "We can no longer tolerate that signatures and rules are worth less than zero. If football clubs were to respect transparency rules, then Inter would already have been relegated. Whose money is it being used, is it starting from the Cayman Islands?

"[UEFA president] Michel Platini knows that Inter have broken the UEFA Fair Play rules. For Salah and other players who cost millions. This is the chance to make an example of them."

After the comments were made, Fiorentina released a statement, which read: "ACF Fiorentina wishes to clarify that recent comments made by board member Paolo Panerai are his own personal views and not those of the club."

Salah moved to the Stadio Artemio Franchi in January on a loan deal from Chelsea.
