Juan Cuadrado brace sends Fiorentina fifth

Juan Cuadrado scores twice as Fiorentina come from behind to earn a 2-1 victory at Chievo, which is enough to put them fifth in Serie A.

Fiorentina have come from a goal down to beat AC Chievo Verona 2-1 on the road this afternoon, thanks to a timely brace from returning winger Juan Cuadrado.

Vincenzo Montella's side went into the clash fresh from scoring seven goals in their last two games, but fell behind to the Flying Donkeys after just 13 minutes.

Bostjan Cesar was the man to break the deadlock after being allowed time and space to meet Boukary Drame's cross from close range.

Cyril Thereau then came close to doubling Chievo's advantage, while Joaquin Sanchez just failed to connect with Manuel Pasqual's cross at the other end.

On the stroke of half time La Viola levelled thanks to a pacey burst from Cuadrado, who cut inside before aiming a fierce strike into the corner.

Early in the second half Cuadrado completed the turnaround after collecting Giuseppe Rossi's interception, taking a heavy knock from Christian Puggioni as he stretched to fire home.

The Colombian crumpled in a heap on the ground but had done enough to bag his and Fiorentina's second, eventually returning with heavy strapping to his knee as the visitors closed out a hard-fought victory.
