Sports stars and clubs across the world continue to help their local communities – and find new ways to amuse themselves – during the coronavirus pandemic.

Football

England and Manchester City Women captain Steph Houghton started her challenge of running 100 kilometres in May to raise awareness and money for her husband’s foundation Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.

Midfielder Ilkay Gundogan video called Manchester City fans to keep their spirits up during the lockdown.

Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson posted a throwback photograph of his time at Dundee United.

Robertson’s club captain Jordan Henderson surprised Liverpool season-ticket holder David Kerruish with a video call.

Boxing
