FC Cincinnati and New York City FC get their best-of-three playoffs in the 2024 Major League Soccer campaign underway with a meeting at the TQL Stadium on Monday night.   The home side endured a relatively underwhelming regular-season journey to secure third place in the Eastern Conference, while their visitors finished three spots down below in sixth.

We say: FC Cincinnati 2-1 New York City FC

Goals have been a constant feature of this fixture over the years, and we can see Tuesday's clash following suit.

 

That said, we are backing the home side to emerge victorious in front of their fans and put themselves in the driving seat to go through to the next round.

Seattle vs. Houston (Tuesday, 1.00am)

Seattle Sounders and Houston Dynamo will raise the curtain on their round-of-16 matchup in the 2024 MLS playoffs with a meeting at Lumen Field on Tuesday.   The home side will be confident of continuing their recent dominance over the visitors and securing a 1-0 series lead to take into Tuesday's second encounter.

We say: Seattle Sounders 1-0 Houston Dynamo

Given how strong both teams were defensively during the regular season, we are anticipating a tight affair here with neither team committing too much in attack.

 

However, Seattle Sounders will know the onus is more on them to make home advantage count, and we fancy them to get the job done, albeit by only a narrow margin.
