Sidney Govou is determined to overcome his latest injury setback and return to playing football next season.

Evian Thonon Gaillard forward Sidney Govou has insisted that he is determined to return to top-flight football next season.

The 33-year-old has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a ruptured cruciate ligament he sustained during his side's 2-1 away victory over Lille in Ligue 1 earlier this month.

"I'm not an anxious person by nature," he told Ligue1.com. "The people around me are a lot more worried than I am. I'm trying to reassure them!

"Some people are saying, 'Damn, how frustrating, what are you going to do?' But it's not the end of the world. I'll walk again, and I'll run again. If everything goes well, I'll play football again too."

Govou joined Evian in 2011.
