Everton are allegedly monitoring the development of Udinese forward Beto, who is currently impressing in Serie A.

Everton have reportedly identified Udinese forward Beto as a potential transfer target.

After the departure of Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur, Frank Lampard spent the summer looking for alternatives in the final third.

The Toffees eventually made the decision to push through a deal for Neal Maupay, who was allowed to leave Brighton & Hove Albion with less than 12 months remaining on his contract.

Maupay is currently delivering in the final third, the Frenchman scoring the only goal of the game as Everton beat West Ham United before the international break.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin due to return from injury after the international break and Salomon Rondon down at third choice, Everton are already well stocked for options down the middle of their attack.

However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Lampard and director of football Kevin Thelwell are taking an interest in Beto.

The 24-year-old is currently starring in a team which have taken Serie A by surprise, putting together a five-match winning streak to sit in third position.

Although Beto has found himself in and out of the starting lineup, never featuring for more than 69 minutes in a match, he has four goals from three starts and four substitute appearances.

As well as netting crucial goals in wins over Monza and Fiorentina, Beto scoring a quickfire double in the 3-1 success at Sassuolo earlier this month.

With four years remaining on his contract at the Dacia Arena, Udinese remain in a strong position with regards to Beto's future.

Nevertheless, I Bianconeri may be willing do business in one of the upcoming transfer windows if given an opportunity to make a substantial profit on the £9m that they committed to paying earlier this year.

The Portuguese had initially moved to Udinese on loan for 21-22 before convincing the club's powers-that-be with 11 goals from 28 outings.

The report adds that West Ham had given consideration to moving for Beto until they eventually settled on signing Sassuolo's Gianluca Scamacca.
