Northern Ireland enjoyed a comfortable 4-0 victory against the Faroe Islands to lift them up to third in their Euro 2012 qualifying group.

A goal from Aaron Hughes, his first for his country in 77 appearances, put the hosts 1-0 up at the break.

Steven Davis doubled their lead after the hour, while a brace from Pat McCourt, the second chipping the goalkeeper, secured the three points for Nigel Worthington's side.

Northern Ireland's next qualifying fixture is on Friday, September 2 away to fourth-placed Serbia.
