Espanyol brush aside Real Jaen

La Liga side Espanyol have reached the last 16 of the Copa del Rey courtesy of a 4-2 aggregate win against Real Jaen.

The first leg in Andalucia ended 2-2, but the Segunda Division side were not strong enough to turn their strong performance into an overall victory.

The opening goal came after just 12 minutes as a dominant Espanyol scored through Simao and there was danger that the match would quickly get away from the visitors.

However, they remained solid and the result was not settled until five minutes from time when Sidnei rifled in for a 2-0 win for the side from Barcelona.
