England Under-21 manager Stuart Pearce has expressed his desire to pick up a win in his side's final European Championships group match tomorrow.
England have already been eliminated from the tournament having lost their opening two games to Italy and Norway, but tomorrow's tie against hosts Israel will give them a chance to pick up their first points of the campaign.
Only one side have ever left an Under-21 tournament with zero point, and Pearce insists that the players are desperate not to become the second.
"We know our destiny now and we know this is our last game in the tournament and it is important we try to go out with a victory if we possibly can," said Pearce.
"We certainly don't want to finish bottom of the group and the players have been very disappointed regarding the results in the first two games.
"They have kept very, very focused, training has been very good and their application has been fantastic. They are desperate to put on a performance."
England currently sit rock bottom of Group A, one point behind Israel following the hosts' draw with Norway.
