FC Twente boss Steve McClaren reportedly considers a return to England by applying for the technical director position at the FA.

Former England manager Steve McClaren is reportedly interested in becoming the new technical director of the Football Association.

The English governing body announced yesterday that they are in the hunt for an individual to take the director role, which will be the first appointment of its position in 10 years.

McClaren, who is currently carrying out a second spell as manager of FC Twente, is believed to be interested in applying for the job, according to the Daily Mail.

It is thought that the FA would be open to considering the 50-year-old, who failed to make an impact at Championship club Nottingham Forest, which resulted in McClaren's resignation after just three months in charge.
