Roy Hodgson forced to abandon plans for England meeting

England manager Roy Hodgson is forced to abandon plans to meet his players due to difficulties with finding a suitable date.

England manager Roy Hodgson has been forced to abandon plans to meet his squad later this month as too many players are unable to attend.

Hodgson recently revealed that he was keen to hold a meeting with the players to go through an in-depth tactical debrief of November's 3-1 victory over Scotland, but the Football Association has confirmed that the plans have been scrapped.

According to the FA, there was no dispute with Premier League clubs over the meeting, and the failure to agree a date is due to hectic schedules for a number of players.

England, who have won all six of their matches since the World Cup, do not return to action until March's Euro 2016 qualifier with Lithuania.
