Roy Hodgson: 'Phil Jones making good progress'

Hodgson: 'Jones recovering well'

England manager Roy Hodgson has revealed that Phil Jones is making good progress in his recovery from a shoulder injury.

The Manchester United defender was included in the World Cup squad despite struggling with the injury, and Hodgson claims that he is now edging closer to full fitness ahead of the tournament in Brazil.

"It was nice to see Phil Jones joining in the warm-up," the England boss told reporters.

"He's training very well and it looks like he might be taking part even before the end of this week in some sort of footballing activities."

Hodgson has confirmed that John Stones would replace Jones should he not be able to make a full recovery.
