Roy Hodgson: "Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been so impressive"

England boss Roy Hodgson has insisted that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been "so impressive" in training.

The Arsenal midfielder starts for England in their Group D opener against France - with praise ringing in his ears.

"[Oxlade-Chamberlain] has been so impressive. He was impressive against the Belgians and in training and gives us useful balance. We've got good alternatives if he tires and it doesn't work out but he deserves to start on what he's shown us," he told reporters.
