David Beckham lends support to England Women

David Beckham has praised the England women's football team following their World Cup quarter-final victory over Canada.

Early goals by Jodie Taylor and Lucy Bronze saw England progress through to their first Women's World Cup semi-final where they will play reigning champions Japan.

"Girls what a performance .. We are so proud of what you have achieved and the passion you have shown gives us so much pride.... Our lionesses roar into the semi's 🇬🇧 @england," Beckham said on Instagram.

Beckham had previously posted on Instagram wishing the team luck before their opening match.
