Scottish Championship roundup: Raith Rovers go top of the table

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from Saturday's Scottish Championship action as Raith Rovers go top of the table with a win over Livingston.

Raith Rovers followed up their first-round win in the Scottish League Cup with a 3-0 victory over Livingston, putting them top of the Scottish Championship table.

An early strike from Mark Stewart broke the deadlock early on for the home side, with Ryan McCord doubling the lead by converting a penalty 10 minutes before half time.

Mitchel Megginson scored Raith's third in the 91st minute to get a win in their first league game of the season.

Queen of South have gone second in the league on goal difference with a convincing 3-1 win over Alloa Athletic.

The hosts took a comprehensive 3-0 lead going into half time, thanks to a brace from Iain Russel and a strike from Derek Lyle - his fourth in three games this season.

Iain Flannigan scored shortly after the restart for the visitors but it was too little too late as Queen of South leapfrog Rangers to go second.

Dumbarton had to take the lead twice to seal all three points against Hibernian, as Gregor Buchanan scored in the third minute to give Stevie Aitken's side the advantage.

However, Dominique Malonga equalised shortly after to make things all even.

It was William Gibson that wrapped up the points for the home side as he curled his free kick over the wall and into the top corner, making the final score 2-1.

Greenock Morton came from a goal down to secure a point against Falkirk, after Paul Watson gave the away side the lead.

Peter MacDonald levelled the scores with a header from a corner on the 60th minute, as the two sides share the spoils.

Results in full (half-time scores in brackets): Dumbarton 2-1 Hibernian (1-1), Greenock Morton 1-1 Falkirk (0-1), Queen of South 3-1 Alloa Athletic (3-0), Raith Rovers 3-0 Livingston (2-0).
