Hennessey: 'Palace were unlucky'

Wayne Hennessey admits that Crystal Palace were "unlucky" not to convert a late spot kick against Manchester City in Sunday's goalless draw at Selhurst Park.

Wayne Hennessey has claimed that Crystal Palace were "unlucky" not to convert a late spot kick against Manchester City.

The Eagles ended City's record-breaking Premier League winning run on Sunday thanks to a hard-earned goalless draw at Selhurst Park.

However, the Citizens managed to hang on to a point as Ederson saved Luka Milivojevic's injury-time penalty after substitute Raheem Sterling had fouled Wilfried Zaha in the box.

"We were unlucky, but it was a fantastic save at the end of the day," Palace goalkeeper Hennessey told BT Sport. "Luka has been fantastic for us with penalties this season, but it was a fantastic save.

"Roy Hodgson has come in and has done a fantastic job and we all love him to bits and we hope he can stay for a long time. We have got the players in the dressing room to move forward and we hope we can move forward."

The result keeps Palace 17th in the table and one point above the bottom three.
