Emmanuel Adebayor: 'I have nothing to prove'

New Crystal Palace signing Emmanuel Adebayor says that he has nothing to prove in the Premier League.

Emmanuel Adebayor has insisted that he has nothing to prove for the duration of his six-month contract at Crystal Palace.

The former Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur striker agreed a deal at Selhurst Park earlier today, having been without a club since September.

Adebayor has courted controversy both on and off the pitch during his time in England, but the 31-year-old has stressed that he is content with what he has achieved in the Premier League so far.

"I don't have anything personally to achieve. I've got to go for the team and what they want to achieve," he told the club's official website.

"As a footballer you always want to leave your name out there. What I've achieved in England and football so far, I am quite happy."

Adebayor could make his debut for the Eagles during Saturday afternoon's FA Cup tie against Stoke City.
