Bilic: Spain not big favourites

Croatia boss Slaven Bilic thinks that Spain may struggle to retain their European championship crown.

A late goal from Jesus Navas gave the reigning champions a 1-0 win over Croatia in Gdansk last night.

That result sent Spain through to the last eight of Euro 2012 at the expense of Bilic's team, but the 43-year-old does not believe that Vicente del Bosque's side are as strong as they have been at previous tournaments.

After the game, Bilic said: "We were close, we could have won. They are Euro and world champions but I don't see them like big favourites.

"There are lot of teams and maybe there are other teams who have more hunger to win and are more aggressive on the pitch."

Spain will face the runners-up from Group D in the quarter-finals in Donetsk on Saturday.
