Sam Ricketts has claimed that new club Coventry City is capable of getting back to the Premier League.
The defender, 33, recently joined the League One side on a free transfer after being released by Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Ricketts believes that everything is in place at Coventry to give the Sky Blues a good chance of returning to the top flight of English football.
"The size and potential of Coventry is obvious," he told BBC Sport. "It's such a big club and there's plenty of ambition there. The ambition is promotion - everyone wants to be out of this league and playing up a level.
"Teams that have been in League One before have been able to build and stabilise and go through all the way to the Premier League. First and foremost we need to be competitive in this league but, in the years ahead, there's no reason why Coventry can't do that."
Coventry start their League One campaign at home to Wigan Athletic on August 8.
