Chievo replace Sannino with Corini

AC Chievo Verona have moved quickly to make Eugenio Corini their new manager, appointed this afternoon less than 24 hours after Giuseppe Sannino was relieved of his duties.

Chievo sacked Sannino last night after a poor start to the season, with just one win from 12 matches leaving them bottom of Serie A heading into the international break.

Corini was in charge of the Flying Donkeys last season, but failed to agree a new contract during the summer despite finishing 15 points clear of the relegation zone.

The 43-year-old has been out of work since and quickly signed a two-year contract to take charge of Chievo for a second spell, with his official unveiling due to take place tomorrow afternoon.

Corini's first game in charge will come on November 24, the hotly-anticipated local derby against Hellas Verona.
