Chelsea attackers Jamie Gittens and Marc Guiu are allegedly attracting interest from two Serie A giants.
With Xabi Alonso having removed as many as 12 players from his first-team group on the training pitch, it is becoming clearer who is in contention for Monday's Premier League opener against Fulham.
As a result, a wide array of high-profile names continue to be linked with a transfer away from Stamford Bridge.
However, BlueCo have shown in the past that they are prepared to stay patient if any proposals do not meet their demands.
According to separate reports in Italy, Gittens and Guiu are on the radar of two of Serie A's biggest clubs.
Roma, Napoli keen on Chelsea duo
As per Alfredo Pedulla, Roma have made an official request to secure a season-long loan for Gittens.
Pedulla adds that Chelsea currently have no interest in allowing the England Under-21 international to leave West London on a temporary basis.
Nevertheless, it is added that the situation could change later in the market, depending on how Alonso and BlueCo view the former Borussia Dortmund star.
Gittens featured in five of Chelsea's six pre-season friendlies, but he only played 14 minutes in the final game against Real Sociedad last weekend.
Meanwhile, Napoli are said to have placed Guiu at the top of the striker shortlist for the closing 11 days of the transfer window.
Guiu has been left out of Chelsea's pre-season plans, the Blues keen to facilitate the sale of the ex-Barcelona starlet who cost in the region of £5m in 2024.
Napoli are open to signing the Spaniard as "an investment" with other targets, including Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson, proving to be too expensive.
Chelsea to capitalise on Guiu opportunity?
Reports have indicated that Chelsea are looking to recoup £25m for Guiu, despite his lack of game time in 2026.
While some of the fanbase will be disappointed to see the 20-year-old leave Chelsea, recouping anywhere between £10m to £20m would still be viewed as a major positive when the club need to comply with the relevant financial regulations.
Whether BlueCo are prepared to soften their stance remains to be seen, but they cannot afford to be unreasonable when Guiu has effectively been cast to the side without being given a fair chance in the first team.
