Fulham 'strike agreement' for £22m Chelsea attacker - and it's not Raheem Sterling

Not Sterling: Fulham 'strike agreement' for £22m Chelsea attacker

Fulham have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Chelsea youngster Tyrique George on deadline day.

The 19-year-old has made a single Premier League appearance so far this term, playing for 67 minutes against the Cottagers on Saturday.

Chelsea secured a 2-0 win over Marco Silva's men at Stamford Bridge in the West London derby, with Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez finding the net.

Enzo Maresca's men have made a solid start to the 2025-26 Premier League term, collecting seven points across their opening three matches.

Following the first international break of the season, the Blues continue their top-flight quest with a trip to Keith Andrews's Brentford.

Chelsea 'reach agreement' for George's Fulham move

According to journalist David Ornstein, Chelsea are close to waving goodbye to one of their academy graduates before the end of the window.

The report claims that fellow London club Fulham are leading the race to secure the services of 19-year-old George on a permanent deal.

It is understood that the Cottagers have reached an agreement with the Club World Cup winners over a move across West London for the player.

Silva's side will pay an initial £22m for the talents of George, who will be looking to grab a spot in the first XI at Craven Cottage.

Chelsea have supposedly included a sell-on clause in the deal, with the winger set for a medical ahead of signing a five-year contract.

How good is George?

Courtesy of Chelsea's participation in the Conference League last term, George enjoyed plenty of game time under the watch of Maresca.

The 19-year-old featured in 13 continental contests as the West London Blues went on to be crowned winners of UEFA's third-tier club competition.

After only appearing in eight Premier League matches last season, George will be aiming to regular top-flight minutes at Fulham.
