Crystal Palace appear keen to sign on-loan Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher on a permanent deal this summer.

Crystal Palace have become keen to sign on-loan Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher on a permanent deal this summer.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a successful loan spell at Selhurst Park this season, scoring eight goals in 36 appearances across all competitions so far.

That form saw Gallagher voted as the fans' player of the season at the club's end of season awards on Monday, where Eagles chairman Steve Parish suggested that they would look to sign the midfielder on a permanent basis in the upcoming transfer window.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Parish said: "We would love to have him back, I am not going to pretend that is not the case.

"Conor [Gallagher] will make his own choices of course, and the club will have something to say about it, but we have enjoyed every minute of having him here this year.

"So if that is all we get of him, and I hope not, he has been a fantastic asset to the club as a player, and as a person as well."

Gallagher has helped Palace enjoy an impressive transitional season under Patrick Vieira, with the club sitting in 11th place in the Premier League table at the time of writing, as well as contributing to them reaching the FA Cup semi-finals, where they were knocked out by his parent club Chelsea.
