Chelsea in hunt for Gomes

Chelsea are believed to be considering a bid for Portuguese playmaker Vitor Gomes.

The 23-year-old, who plays for Primeira Liga side Rio Ave, could make the move to Stamford Bridge for £5m, according to The Mirror.

Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas is thought to be a keen admirer of the midfielder and will keep tabs on his progress in Portugal.

Gomes is known to play at right-back as well as in midfield.
