Chelsea convinced of Wayne Rooney signing from Manchester United?

Chelsea are reportedly confident that they will secure the signature of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney before the close of the summer transfer window.

The Blues failed in their first attempt to lure the unsettled forward away from Old Trafford following a reported rejected £20m bid.

Despite being knocked back, Chelsea are so convinced that they will land their man that they are not outlining any other targets, according to the Daily Star.

On the other hand, United have maintained that Rooney is not for sale by confirming that the 27-year-old will return to the squad for pre-season in Sweden on August 6.
