Chelsea close to signing Barcelona teenager Romeu

Chelsea are close to signing Barcelona teenager Oriol Romeu, according to reports.

The Catalan club want €5m (£4.35m) for the 19-year-old defensive midfielder, who made his full debut for the 2011 Champions League winners last season.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas had previously shown an interest in the player during his time managing Porto.

The Stamford Bridge club recently made a bid for Anderlecht striker Romelu Lukaku and have had offers rejected for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric.
