Cesar Azpilicueta 'not thinking about Spain'

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta vows to remain at Stamford Bridge despite reported interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has insisted that he is not thinking about leaving the Premier League champions this summer.

The Spaniard has been one of the league's best defenders this season, with his performances making him one of the standout full-backs in European football.

Real Madrid have been strongly linked with a move for the 25-year-old, while Barcelona are also said to be monitoring developments with a view to a bid in January 2016.

However, the Spanish international has played down talk of a departure from Stamford Bridge.

"I don't think about anything other than staying at Chelsea. I do not think about Spain. I'm in the best team in England, I do not think about playing elsewhere," he told RMC.

Azpilicueta started his career in Spain with Osasuna, before moving on to Marseille in 2010.
