Chelsea's Andreas Christensen is reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Barcelona over a move to Camp Nou.

Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen is reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Barcelona over a move to Camp Nou on a free transfer.

The Denmark international is yet to pen a new deal with his current club and will be free to sign a pre-contract with a foreign club in January, with his existing terms at Stamford Bridge due to expire next June.

Barcelona have been strongly linked with the defender in recent weeks, and according to Sport, an agreement between the two parties is close to being finalised.

The report claims that the Catalan giants have been in touch with Christensen "for weeks", and the 25-year-old has "no intention" of committing his future to Chelsea.

The Dane has been an important player for Thomas Tuchel's side during the 2021-22 campaign, making 19 appearances in all competitions, contributing one goal and one assist in the process.

Christensen, who previously spent two seasons on loan with German outfit Borussia Monchengladbach, has featured on 146 outings for the Blues since making his debut in 2013.
