Defender Andreas Christensen is recalled to the Chelsea starting lineup for Saturday's Premier League fixture at Southampton.

Defender Andreas Christensen has been recalled to the Chelsea starting lineup for Saturday's Premier League fixture at Southampton.

Christensen has suffered with injury and fatigue in recent weeks but Antonio Conte has opted to include the Dane in his starting lineup at the expense of Antonio Rudiger.

There is also a start for Davide Zappacosta, who comes in for Victor Moses at right wing-back, but Conte keeps faith in a front three of Willian, Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata.

Ross Barkley has been passed fit to return to the substitutes' bench but there is no Danny Drinkwater, who is allegedly considering his future at Stamford Bridge.

As for Southampton, manager Mark Hughes has decided to give a first top-flight start to Jan Bednarek, who comes into the team for the suspended Jack Stephens.

That is the only change for the Saints, with Charlie Austin having to make do with a spot among the replacements despite coming off the bench to score against Arsenal.

Southampton: McCarthy; Soares, Bednarek, Hoedt, Yoshida, Bertrand; Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Hojbjerg; Long
Subs: Forster, McQueen, Lemina, Boufal, Sims, Austin, Gabbiadini

Chelsea: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Cahill; Zappacosta, Kante, Fabregas, Alonso; Willian, Morata, Hazard
Subs: Caballero, Moses, Emerson, Bakayoko, Barkley, Pedro, Giroud
