Fernando Torres has claimed that he is excited to fill the void left by Didier Drogba at Chelsea.
Despite struggling to cement a spot in Chelsea's first team last season, he insists that he is ready to begin a new campaign for the European Champions.
When asked about the pressure on him due to Drogba's transfer to Shanghai Shenhua, Torres said: "I am excited about the season.
"It's very nice to be back and involved with the training again. It was an amazing season for me last time. It couldn't have been better — I won the Champions League, European Championships for a second time in a row with Spain and the Golden Boot. It was amazing.
"I've had a good break and good time to rest with the family. I am ready to start the new season and I sure it will be a very nice one as well."
Torres has only managed to score 12 goals since his £50m transfer to Stamford Bridge from Liverpool 18 months ago.
