Mourinho happy to accept criticism

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that he is happy to take the criticism for his side's inconsistent start to the season.

The Blues beat Fulham 2-0 on Saturday and are fourth in the Premier League but have lost to Everton and Basel in recent weeks, dampening supporters exuberance following his appointment in the summer.

When asked if he was under scrutiny, Mourinho told reporters: "Yes. And that is my fault. My fault. When you win once in 10 years, people don't expect a lot of you, When you win in 10 consecutive years, people expect a lot.

"So I'm guilty of that and accept the criticisms. For me it's fantastic. If I didn't want this job, I'd go to a national team and I'd play one game every month.

"This is fantastic. It's not easy. It's tough. But with the money we get we shouldn't complain. Am I tough? I'm a tough professional. Not a tough person. In my family and with my people I am a soft, sweet guy."

Chelsea face Swindon Town in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.
