John Obi Mikel is targeting the Premier League title and not just a top-four finish.

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has said that Chelsea are targeting the Premier League title and not just Champions League qualification.

Last year's Champions League winners finished off the pace in sixth in the league and Mikel has insisted that the players want to bounce back by winning the trophy they last claimed in 2010.

"It hurts us that it was such a big gap last season," Mikel told the Daily Mail. "We spoke about it. We don't want that to repeat itself.

"We don't want a repeat of last season when we slipped out of the top four but, for us, the top four is not the target.

"The most important thing is to win the trophy. We want to regain the trophy."

The Nigerian has made 160 league appearances for the Blues.
