Eden Hazard explains why losing at Real Madrid feels more significant than losing with Chelsea.

Eden Hazard has spoken of the stark difference in significance between losing a game at Real Madrid compared to losing a game at Chelsea.

The Belgian left Chelsea over the summer after seven years at the club to sign for Los Blancos in a deal costing around £90m.

Hazard made his first competitive appearance for Zinedine Zidane's side over the weekend, coming off the bench during a 3-2 win over Levante.

Speaking to Champions Journal about life at the Bernabeu, Hazard said: "At Chelsea when we lost, we were disappointed, like the fans, but I never felt it was a disaster, it's different in Spain.

"I think that here the fans are really fans, football is everything to them and they need players to give everything, in England there aren't so many fans.

"Of course, people there like football and everyone be that young people, adults or teenagers are really interested in football, but they aren't so fanatical about their teams."

Hazard is said to have arrived at Madrid a stone overweight and only featured sporadically over pre-season.

The La Liga side, who had a poor summer in terms of results and performances, moved into second place in the table over the weekend.
